What's the best way for a male character to give birth, In your opinion?

Should they be over feminized or give a good old muggle C section?

I'd prefer they should have it come out the way it goes in. Birthing would be hurt/comfort, plus the other father can join in the fun by bing a holding bag or something... I always found that funny, though I've only ever seen one story with Remus giving birth this way, holding to Snape... D:

But good ol' c-sections and 'magical poof babies' work too. :3

I hate the 'magical poof babies' (nice name for them btw..). I think it should be like horcruxhymen said "they should have it come out the way it goes in". Or lately I have been drawn to the idea of laying eggs after reading spiffy's stories ^^

Gotta be the good ol pain ans sufferin and hours and hours of labor! Its the only way becouse it makes the time when they finally have the baby that more special, its like after all that pain there is this wonderful little prize at the end.

hmm....interesting topic, really.
there are so many approaches on mpreg birthing.

there's the more muggle approach of the c section operation,

then we have the magically appearing birth canal which is more natural (given that the body is altering itself for the baby which makes more sense really)

and then we have the beastial approach, where the pregnant bloke turns to his creature to give birth to his youngling whether it be a cute cub or an egg.

but in my opinion( and observation ), no one really explored the extent of mpreg birthing concerning magical creatures and wizards where magic is included. i mean, they are magical right? they have something muggles do not have so why not make use of that raw magic as a means of birthing?

my theory is this, since the babe is conceived because of the magic and bond of two male mates, why can't the babe be delivered into the world through the same magic?

now i see some raised brows :)
we do tend to view the birthing process as painful and a labor of love and that it won't be complete without blood drawn but male pregnancies are different from female ones and we really can't just give men birthing canals or have c section operations on them (too muggle to be magical). i mean how did mates give birth THEN? and remember wizards do not like cutting people up (that's the dividing line bet doctors and healers) in the name of healing.

what say you?

You have some very good points. Healers really don't like all the cutting doctors do. I have never even thought it like that.

That's an excellent point actually, but in what way would magic assist birthing in your opinion?

i have read some fics about magical creatures and some texts. apparently, the baby isn't actually in a womb like to that of the female's uterus but enclosed in a magical cocoon that acts like a uterus. the baby grows in the cocoon fed with magic of both parents then when he reaches maturity A.K.A. 9 months, the magic explodes.
the 'mother' goes to labor but unlike the painful and physically draining labor of women, the 'mother-to-be' undergoes a magical overflow. so the labor is actually magical in nature rather than that of a physical one.

now back to the labor. magic surges through and around the mother and child, enveloping both with powerful raw magick. basically, the mother's magic ushers the new born magic to the world via the magick flow and after the glow ends...a wizard/creature is born.

Sounds interesting. Could you give a link to a story where this happens?

OMG! Spiffy speaks the truth! its very similar...wait! Sims have Mpreg??!! bloody brilliant!

but in wizards, the magic engulfs the mother and soon to be born babe with sheer raw magick energy. but the sims' mpregs do look similar
